Solemn Whispers: “Wait On God” 21 May 2016

“But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint”. Isaiah 40:31 [KJV]
To wait on God is to tarry until God’s time. Many people today feel that they can manipulate things themselves instead of waiting on God. We have seen many cases whereby people go to gods to request for children and such experienced  the repercussion attached because they could not wait on God. Whenever God promises us something, He will never forget and He will surely fulfill it (Isa 49:15). It may seem that it is taking much time, but if we can wait on Him, there is nothing that can be compared to what He will offer us, because He has the best in stock for us.

Whatever manipulation man might make in His own wisdom, it cannot be up to the standard of what God has for him (Isa 55:8-9); it would rather bring punishment instead.
Had it been Saul had waited for Samuel (who was entitled to make the burnt sacrifice) to offer the burnt offering, the Lord would have established his (Saul’s) kingdom upon Israel forever, but he did contrary to what the Lord commanded him, and consequently his kingdom was discontinued.
To end it all, waiting on God might seem time-taking but it is the best because the thought He has for us are thoughts of peace (good) [ Jer 29:11]. So the best is to wait on Him so that He will fulfill His plan for us.

PRAYER: Lord, help me to wait on you and not do things by my own knowledge (Back your prayer with Micah 7:7).
