MEMORY VERSE: “And of the children of Issachar, which were men that had understanding of the times, to know what Israel ought to do; the heads of them were two hundred; and all their brethren were at their commandment.” (1 Chr 12:32 – KJV).
The 200 descendants of Issachar were respected and sort after in Israel, to guide the nation regarding what to do and more importantly, at what time it should be done. This prevented the nation from wasteful spending of resources, from fighting wars that would be eventually lost, and other mishap, just because they ‘understood the time.
As indicated in the leading text where Jesus was at a wedding in Galilee; we can infer that though Christ’s hour to manifest had not come, the request of the wedding organizers was granted; hence, in understanding the time and being patient, rather than staying idle, be engaged. God remains loving to honour our faith when we do our part.
I agree with the maxim, ‘Time Is Everything’ and as a Christian, you can trust God to help you ‘understand the time’. The benefits that come from it are numerous (I can’t find words to describe it).
As cool as it is to understand the time, it is equally easy, the basic and most important key that would teach you to ‘understand the time’ is by deciding for him and choose to belong to the family of those redeemed by the blood of the lamb.
Dear Lord, please lead us in the right path that we may understand the times and live to please you always.
